Slightly different colors depending on the type of selection
I would like that when I make a selection with CTRL+ALT+CLICK the color is slightly different than when I select only with CTRL in a fragment. This way if I have the zoom very tight I can know that I have made the selection right with CTRL+ALT+CLICK without having to zoom out.
Thanks in advance.1 vote -
Dub-detection
Color all sound clips in a specific color when there is more than one copy. And the possibility to turn Dub-detection on and off.

Drag playback head
Currently, the only way to move the playback head is to click to the new location. This is non-standard and can also be inconvenient. To make HJP consistent with other DAW's and more usable (and intuitive), user should be able to "grab" the playback head with the mouse and drag it to a new location.
1 voteGood idea. Will probably be included in a build within the next months.

Skype to Skype - Good to Great
Being able to record phone calls via Skype is good but it would great if we could record conversations Skype user to Skype user. The fidelity is superior using VOIP than using the phone system. i would still want to be able to record my studio mic into the transmit side.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks

A make long and complicated podcasts with a lot of different sources, interviews, SFX and music. See attached screen :-)

More icons
Loving the program
but it would be nice to have edit icons such as 'Shuffle Trim' or 'Slide audio inside region' on the top edit bar and Loop, Play selection' and 'Rehearse' icons on the bottom play section1 vote -
Add ability to preview an edit
Sound forge lets you make a selection and preview the edit (without the selection) by using ctrl-k. Is this available in Hindenburg? If not, it would be nice!!!

Audio to text transcription - best process?
When I want a text transcription of a group of voices in a meeting -- I play the file into my headphones --- then I speak the words into Microsoft Speech Recognition - a resident app that is well trained to my voice.
It's kludgy, but I get about 95% of what I need in text... suffices for notes or for searching for short clips from huge content.
I sure wish I could just route that sound file into a transcriber -- even if it was a crappy job, it would help with planning and producing. Right now it looks…

PDF support for book importation for narrator
I've received a book in PDF format I'm to narrate. Converting it to epub makes it unreadable (images of the chapter text extend beyond the screen).
Importing PDF and .doc files should be added to the narrator software. As it is, it's unusable for me :(
Also - add
Import > Audio
> Book/Manuscript
into the "import" submenu and get rid of "open" for the manuscript. You call it "import" in your tutorials. It should be in the "import" function, not an "open" function.1 vote -
Reference source files instead of copy to project folder
I'm producing podcasts and notice that my source files (intro music, interview recordings, audio tags, etc.) are being duplicated in the project folder. Since I record ~1hr multitrack interviews, this adds up.
It would be great to have Hindenburg reference the source files similar to Final Cut Pro X or Lightroom.1 vote -
Narrator "Move and Mark Paragraph"
When recording a paragraph, I usually know when I just "got it wrong," so I just hit the right arrow and move on to stay in the flow.
It would be great to be able to use, say, the down arrow or something to "move and mark," perhaps putting a small mark in the margin or using a different background color for the paragraph so that you could easily see which items you need to re-record.
Thank you,

Support for in-app browsing of Garageband sounds/loops
The in app browser of media such as Garageband sounds and loops, or FinalCut sound effects, etc. is a handy feature of Apple's pro apps. It would be super helpful to be able to easily access these within Hindenburg.

Sample Projects for practice
I would like to Journalist Pro have some practice exercises created so new users could get some hands on experience. These projects would include the audio files with basic instructions. Here are some examples that I would like to see.
*Radio news story with one actuality included
*Radio news story with two actualities included
*Radio News feature with multiple interviews
*Radio Commercial :60 with narration, background music and ambience
* Five minute mini podcast to edit from start to finish
These examples I believe would allow new users to learn some valuable skills as the complexity of the assignments increased…1 vote -
Devise a way to filter speaker-to-mic feedback out of a recording
We had a guest on a Zoom interview podcast, and she only had her computer speakers and microphone to use. Whenever she was silent, our voices came out her speakers and into the microphone, and went round and round, as well as on to the other tracks. It took FOREVER to clean that up in Hindenburg by hand. Isn't there some comparative function that can cancel out that noise, but leave the rest when I put the 3 tracks side by side? I think there has to be some delay consideration, as well as decay and other things, but in…

Top and Tail Linked Tracks
Top and Tail is great, but I mostly edit using linked tracks. Please could this feature be expanded to cover linked tracks?

Customizing favorites
Hey-I've been doing some of your YouTube webinars, and in the last one, they talked about the Favorites tool. While it's an awesome way to recall audio, Is there a way to customize that function for a specific project? Or when populating the favorites, would it be possible to make sub lists or folders in there that could be renamed and used as needed? I'm working on 3-4 different podcasts right now, and it would be great to set that up so I could archive and find clips in a more organized way. Thanks-

Maintain Word Manuscript Formatting in Narrator
Or support html exported from Word.
Manuscripts imported from Word lose important formatting (like italics). Which is not usable.
Typical HTML files and filtered HTML exports from Word have to be manually edited for Hindenburg to import them due to the tags (meta, style, class, etc.) and characters that aren't supported (em dashes, smart quotes, ellipses, etc.). All of this is wasted effort, and not the job of narration.
Without the capability to accurately represent a manuscript from the author/publisher, this can't be taken seriously as a professional narration product.1 vote -
Audio input/output settings
Allow HJ to recognize the system default inputs and outputs as the input/output selections in the app as other apps (such as Logic Pro) do. This simplifies the process of coordinating these settings between the OS and the app.

Effect chain with more slots
The effect chain should be extensible, to allow for a (potentially) unlimited number of effects to be inserted. 6 is barely enough, and I sometimes need to pre-process audio into another application, which defeats the purpose of a software as wonderful as HJP.
