Transcription Service not responding (Windows)

HI, 

¨If the Transcription feature in Hindenburg PRO isn’t working, it may mean that the transcription service isn’t running properly. You can manually start it using the steps below.

Step 1: Open Command Prompt

Click the Start menu.

Type Command Prompt or cmd in the search bar.

Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.

⚠️ Important: Running as administrator ensures the service has permission to start correctly.

Step 2: Navigate to the Transcription Folder

Copy and paste the following command into the Command Prompt, then press Enter:

cd %ProgramData%\Hindenburg\Transcription2


This will take you to the folder where the transcription service is installed.

Step 3: Start the Transcription Service

Next, enter the following command and press Enter:

TranscriptionService.exe -C

Step 4: Confirm It’s Working

If everything is running correctly, you should see the message:

Hello, Transcription


This confirms that the transcription service is active and ready for use.

Step 5: If You See an Error

If you receive an error message instead of “Hello, Transcription,” please:

Take a screenshot of the Command Prompt window, or

Copy the text of the error message
