Automating Panning, Effects, and Plugins
Hello,
I would like to request that you add automation support for panning, effects, and plugins. I am upgrading from an app on my iPad because of limitations, and I got Hindenburg free with my Vocaster Two, so it was the obvious upgrade. It is so awesome to see a DAW designed specifically with podcasters in mind, and the lack of automation for anything other than gain is pretty much my only gripe. I make a non-fiction podcast with a lot of music and an audio-drama podcast, both of which require me to frequently adjust things like panning, reverb, pitch,…

Keyboard toggle for linked tracks
I'd love to be able to deactivate and reactivate linked tracks from the keyboard.
My editing process is about a 50/50 split between linked tracks being a help and being a hindrance, and not only is deactivating it slow, but reactivating it currently involves redefining it one mouse click at a time.

Make Hindenburg a multi-core program.
I am running into problems with Hindenburg handling newer audio plugins since it is limited to using a single core. I have a powerful computer being held back by Hindenburg because it can only use 1/8th of the available processing power.

Multitrack Ducking before and after In and out Points
I would like to change the volume of the first three tracks with one drag (they are linked), the way you see it in the screenshot.
I know of CMD+F and Shift+D for Ramp In and Ducking, which is not what I need, as the ramp I am looking for is supposed to start a little later and not at the beginning of the tracks.
But when I set In and Out Point and then try to toggle the volume of the three tracks down, it doesn't take the selection into account. Instead it toggles down the whole region on…5 votes -
Solo / Mute linked tracks
It would be really useful to be able to solo or mute linked tracks (perhaps with a shortcut, like Cmd + S). Music Stems are usually linked, so they don't go out of sync, and sometimes you need to listen just to the music to check an edit, finetune, etc. If you have 10 stems, soloing each one of them each time you want to check something takes a lot of time. The workaround is to mute the voice tracks, but again we are talking about multiple clicks if you have more than one voice vs one command that you…

Color all sound clips in a specific color when there is more than one copy. And the possibility to turn Dub-detection on and off.

Export chapters in JSON 2.0 format
I'm not sure if I've asked before, but can I please suggest a feature to export the chapters in the JSON podcasting 2.0 format?

Please add support for the new universal DAWproject session exchange format - it's free and open-source
The new DAWproject format can transfer entire sessions to/from different DAW platforms, making it easier and more efficient to collaborate with people via Hindenburg. Unlike the outdated OMF/AAF formats, DAWproject includes audio and MIDI along with volume/pan/sends, fades, clip gain, warping, pitch transposition, generic EQ/comp/gate/limiter settings for built-in inserts, plugin settings and automation data. DAWformat is also a convenient way to archive sessions for storage.
It's free and open-source, and all the necessary information is documented on GitHub here: https://github.com/bitwig/dawproject#readme
Thanks for your consideration, and please vote and comment if you support this idea!

Maintain Word Manuscript Formatting in Narrator
Or support html exported from Word.
Manuscripts imported from Word lose important formatting (like italics). Which is not usable.
Typical HTML files and filtered HTML exports from Word have to be manually edited for Hindenburg to import them due to the tags (meta, style, class, etc.) and characters that aren't supported (em dashes, smart quotes, ellipses, etc.). All of this is wasted effort, and not the job of narration.
Without the capability to accurately represent a manuscript from the author/publisher, this can't be taken seriously as a professional narration product.1 vote -
ARA2 support
Hi Hindy Team,
wouldn't it be nice to add ARA2 support to Hindenburg so post processing the files would even be easier?
Have a great day

Mouse tap to start and pause scrolling
Being able to pause or resume the waveform scroll with a tap or double tap on the touchpad instead of having to use the space bar would increase efficiency while editing.

Stationary playhead
It would be a nice option to have the playhead stationary in the center of the screen and have the waveforms move in the background. Everything relates to the playhead, and it would be great not to chase that across the screen all the time.

Centering the playhead while using the mousewheel
It would be great to have the playhead fixed while using the mousewheel.
This functionalty works with the clickable button in the navigation bar.
Why not, when using the mousewheel? There is no comprehensible reason for that.
Now the playhead moves to the left, when I zoom in with the mousewheel. Not really nice.
Would be to grateful for that feature.
Thanks

Integrate Simplecast into publishing workflow
I would be very happy to see another podcast host integrated in the publishing interface, namely Simplecast.

Allow for functional mouse button programming.
Some DAWs allow for customizable mouse button programming, but apparently Hindenburg doesn't. I attempted to program my spare buttons to clear, cut, and press escape to greatly speed up my editing process, but the software doesn't seem to allow them to work. This would help me tremendously.

Clipboard fixes for 2.0
I've gotten to the part of the edit where it's nearly impossible to proceed
with the new Clipboard. The most central problem is when I try and paste a
clip from the edit into a particular bin, it won't let me. It pastes
SOMEWHERE, but not necessarily in the bin I need it to be in. Then I have
to do a search for it, and the serach result still doesnt tell me where
that byte is (which group it mysteriously saved to), so i have to drag it
into the edit and THEN try pasting it into the right…5 votes -
Allow transcription to remain when re-linking clips
As it currently stands, when we relink an audio file, the transcription is lost, requiring a new transcription of the re-linked file. I will re-link a file when I need to apply additional processing in RX (or other standalone tools). This means being charged multiple times for the same piece of audio, along with having to wait for it to be transcribed again.
I have two solutions for this:
- provide us the option of maintaining the existing transcript when re-linking the audio
- tie the transcript to the region instead of the audio file2 votes -
Remember log in password in the software.
It would be nice if you could provide any of the following solutions:
- save password and automatically log us in
- allow us to use our password manager
- any other option that doesn't require a log in as frequently as it's required now, which seems like a weekly thing2 votes -
Let the spacebar play audio while plug ins are open
A welcomed feature would be to allow playback to be started and stopped with the space bar, even when plugins are open. It is frustrating to need to quickly stop when I'm adjusting a plugin setting but having to mouse to the actual button.
