Hindenburg 1.9 and future macOS compatibility
Apple has announced that macOS 27 will be the last major version to support Intel-based applications through Rosetta. Starting with macOS 28, Hindenburg 1.9 will therefore no longer run on Apple Silicon Macs.
Hindenburg Journalist Pro 1.9 was developed for Intel-based Macs. On newer Macs with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, etc.), it currently runs using Apple's Rosetta 2 technology.
You have two options:
Continue using Hindenburg 1.9: You can keep using your existing version on a compatible macOS system. However, you should avoid upgrading to macOS 28 or later.
Upgrade to Hindenburg 2: Hindenburg 2 supports Apple Silicon natively and is the recommended option if you want to continue updating macOS.
Your existing Hindenburg 1.9 license will continue to work on compatible systems. There is no requirement to upgrade unless you want to use a newer operating system that no longer supports the application.
