We have been looking at how we can implement “delete silence” in Hindenburg. I think we should be able to come up with a solution for that in the near future.
We have been working on some other features that touch the same area, with out latest Beta feature called “Magic Levels”.
It’s a non destructive way of applying Side Chain Gate – so that mixing multiple recordings become very easy.
No the same, I know – be it might help out in the situations where you are looking to reduce Bleed or Noisefloor. An error occurred while saving the comment Detect and remove silence is an idea we have on our list of ideas. I had not thought about truncating silence ... but it might be something we can look at.
In the current version of Hindenburg it might not make a world of sense to implement Strip Silence .. but in the coming version it will. We are working hard on Hindenburg 2.0. That something to look forward too. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Jill,
Point taken. We will need to look further into this matter and see if it possible for us ... both technically and business wise.
Just out of curiosity ...why would you prefer to install fra Mac App Store? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Drew
Thanks for the feedback.
We do have plans for more features in the field-recorder in the future ... but I can not tell you when they will be releasedRegarding discounts....
Apple has it's own infrastructure. When you purchase through the App Store it is a transaction between you and Apple in a sense. So we can't bundle products together. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Ctrl+Arrow keys are already allocated to "move selected region(s)".
You are aware that FF/REW accelerates and that the speeds are relative to the zoom level?
Depending on your situation, Ctrl+(Shift+)TAB might be a faster way to move around.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, it's a ballance.
That said - there is also a High/low pass filter in the EQ. And if you hold Shift you can adjust the Q - point.Other options are:
1. Use the Voice Profiler
2. Use any VST or AU plugin you like -

An error occurred while saving the comment That is a good idea. It would on the other hand create some problems when merging sessions.
Here is an alternative idea:
If you need to create an alternative version of a show, then make a "Save session".
This will not take up more space, since you will be using the same audio files - as long as you save the session the same place as the original.
You could give it the session name and add "1" ... or "cut" ... -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes : ) There is a point to the madness. We do not like the idea of automation lines that might not follow the regions when you move things around.
We have a vague plan of adding effects to single regions - but that also leaves us with some issues.
So - keeping it simple and useful is ... tricky. -

Adding Markers works when you are in the audio worksspace (Enter on the num Pad) . If you are in the manuscript it will not work … right now. We will fix that.
An error occurred while saving the comment But this only works when you are in the audio worksspace. If you are in the manuscript it will not work ... right now. We will fix that.
An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry about the late answer ... but you can do that allready. Use Cmd + Enter on Apple or Ctrl + Enter on Windows.
When editing, edit in All Tracks. This way the Markers will follow the edit

An error occurred while saving the comment As long as you are on the same WIFI with your phone and computer, then you will have a way of transmitting the files.
If you still having trouble with it, then send a mail to support - or catch us on Skype.

Have you tried "Open in.." to Dropbox or similar on your iPhone then opening it on your Mac from your Dropbox folder? See our Step-by-step guide here: http://hindenburg.com/support/guides/?pid=1199&cid=2712&oid=IOS#http://hindenburg.com/support/guides/field-recorder/open-in-/@G

An error occurred while saving the comment We agree - this is a good idea. We are just trying to figure out the best way of doing it.
Should it be an option that can be turned on/off?
Should it allways follow track 1?
Should it be a cue point that is attached to the region? And how would you edit that later??Any idea?

An error occurred while saving the comment You can also drag a selection from the bottom part of the region, so you don't conflict with the region. Or use “i” & “o” to set in and out marker … or ctrl 1 = in & ctrl 2 for out.
I like to use the latter. The reason is that I can also jump to my in & out makers with 1 & 2 -

An error occurred while saving the comment In that case it would probably be better to "stop after xxx seconds of no audio", in case the DAT tapes are not recorded end-to-end.

Good point.
The field recorder was implemented long before file sharing became available, so the internal format was sufficient back then.
We’ll see if we can rename the file/folder on the fly if you give it a name in session properties. An error occurred while saving the comment Timeline? .... depends on how much the code teases us ... but we will try to get it in within a month.

An error occurred while saving the comment Good idea, thanks.
Workaround: Use "Save As..." to save a copy of the session in _another_ folder than the where the original session is. It will then only copy the files actually used in the session.
Afterwards close Hindenburg and delete the original session and session folder.

This is in our backlog for features in Hindenburg 2.0.
We are still working on it and how to be able to bring more news regarding the development. An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the suggestion Keith. We are in fact working towards some solution for using colour-coding in the workspace to help sort your material.
However, I thought you might want to look at our guide articles and tutorials regarding use of the clipboards. Our current workflow design is that you use the clipboards to sort your material from your original material, clear the workspace and then import the clips from the clipboards. Take a look by searching for "clipboard" in our guides: hindenburg.com/support/guides.

Thanks for the input and comments.
We are looking at many of the feature ideas that you all have - and many will be found in the upcoming version (Hindenburg 2,0) that we are working on.
That said, then I might cast some light on some of the questions.
You can get information about the original file and offset by right-clicking on the region and selecting properties.
It is possible to export a single clip from the clipboard (right-click / export) ...but only one clip at a time.
We have many new ideas for the clipboard, exporting to other systems and syncing audio and video.
Thanks again for your input.
