Change Shortcuts/Commands
I would love to change the keyboard settings and use my own shortcuts. Is there a way to change the commands on Hindenburg (currently trial version, Windows).
Thanks!

Return to last edit point when opening a recent session
When I open a recent session, I almost always want it to open to my last edit point so I can continue where I left off. Instead, it always opens at the beginning of the session. That means I either have to remember to place a marker where I left off or I have to write down the time stamp. Or more often I forget to do either and have to go searching for my last edit point!
This could be fixed by showing a dialogue box when you close the session. There could be a check box to return…

aaf/omf import
Please enable AAF and OMF importing. This would allow me and my company to use Descript to edit audio and then pull it into Hindenburg. I'm considering switching DAW's company wide since we can't do this currently.

Reverse a section
I play songs for broadcast that have sections with explicit language. Would be great if I could reverse those sections so the music could stay in key and on tempo.

'Sticky' markers
Just a quick note. In early edits of an interview I always plant markers for different segments of the interview.
But in the second sweep of edits I will often rearrange the interview entirely- or open gaps up to slot other speakers into the sames section.
It's very easy to move big chunks of audio clips with the 'Select to End' shortcut. But the markers remain behind- and I have to try and recognise by eye where to replant them.
Could there be some way to make the markers 'sticky' so that they attach to a particular clip or group…

Reference source files instead of copy to project folder
I'm producing podcasts and notice that my source files (intro music, interview recordings, audio tags, etc.) are being duplicated in the project folder. Since I record ~1hr multitrack interviews, this adds up.
It would be great to have Hindenburg reference the source files similar to Final Cut Pro X or Lightroom.1 vote -
PDF support for book importation for narrator
I've received a book in PDF format I'm to narrate. Converting it to epub makes it unreadable (images of the chapter text extend beyond the screen).
Importing PDF and .doc files should be added to the narrator software. As it is, it's unusable for me :(
Also - add
Import > Audio
> Book/Manuscript
into the "import" submenu and get rid of "open" for the manuscript. You call it "import" in your tutorials. It should be in the "import" function, not an "open" function.1 vote -
Audio Transcription
It would be so awesome if Hindenburg provided an audio transcription feature to print out recorded audio as a MS Word document. When editing, (especially interviews) this would certainly speed up the podcast post-production process:).

Add an adjustable true peak option for Journalist Pro
I love the option to change loudness targets when publishing or exporting in Journalist Pro. I would also like to have the option to change the true peak limit to -1.5, -2, or -3 dB to allow for different platform and media needs.

add feature "share to webdav" for field-recorder
As a journalist i'm very picky about who I do share my data with (even indirectly). So I really don't want to upload my recordings to soundcloud (and neither i'd do with dropbox, google-drive, etc).
if you would add an option under "share" to upload recordings to a free-to-pick hoster, using the webdav-protocol it would help much. like i have set-up my own little cloud (using nextcloud/owncloud) to exactly control access of my data. and - as a nice side-effect - they stay with me!so the feature-request is: pls add an option to upload files to nextcloud (aka webdav)

Improved Rehearse with loop and fixed focus
I use the Rehearse function all the time, but setting the correct boundaries for the final cut often requires dozens of replays. It would be nice to have the option to specify a "post-roll" value, and have the Rehearse function loop endlessly through the selected area from pre-roll to post-roll.
The other part of my suggestion concerns focus. While rehearsing, one fiddles with the boundary markers, so its gets a bit annoying when they get out of view while the playhead sweeps through. So an option to lock the view on any part of the audio (the selected area, or…1 vote -

MIDI or HUI control
My workflow would greatly improve if I could use a control surface/mixer interface with Hindenburg. Most of them use MIDI to connect (e.g. behringer, presonus faderport, etc.). It's incredibly disappointing that software this expensive has no compatibility with any of the control surfaces I use.

Hotkey/Icon for "Properties..."
It would be nice if I could quickly access the "Properties..." option without having to click through the File menu. Either a hotkey or an icon on the top bar would be lovely!

Custom Keyboard Shortcuts
Custom keyboard shortcuts are the way to streamline the workflow. So far, I find the predefined shortcuts clumsy and awkward. I know you're product is different, but if there's one thing you can emulate from Adobe Audition, it's the ability to create custom keyboard shortcuts. that's going to be a game changer.

View > Cue Points
The menu item View > Markers does not show Cue Points which is a pity. I propose inserting a new menu item View > Cue Points which shows a list of all cue points.
37 votesCue Points are tricky as you can have multiple versions of the same cue point at different places in the timeline.
As Curpoint are related to the audio – then it will also move, copy, delte, tase …as the audio does. So having a Cue Markers list is a bit of a moving target.
It’s possible to set and export other markers, if that is what is needed. You could for instance use the Chapter Markers and then export them as text. -
Auto backup
Provide the option for 'Auto-backup'. Include settings for how often you would like to save the session automatically.

Make Hindenberg behave more like an NLE
Hi there, I'm a former video producer. I've been using DAWs like Hindeberg, ProTools, and Audition for a while now. Given that DAWS are almost always designed for something other than podcast/radio/narrative workflow, I think Hindenberg should consider adopting some of the workflow features of NLEs like Avid or Premiere. Specifically, I am talking about having a separate window for your source material, where you can type in a timecode, or make a selection, and then insert it into wherever your cursor is on the project timeline. This would be a far superior way to work than making a ton…

Add navpoints on audio import
Often, when producing DTBs, my team is dealing with audio files which has already been logically organized according to a book structure element, whether that is primary headings, or pages. What would be an incredible addition from our perspective is the ability to place navpoints in bulk at the beginning of each audio file.
An example case would be creating a DAISY 2.02 DTB in which the source audio files each represent a page of text. In the existing HABC build, a user would have to Tab->Click "Page" (or key-press) to add each nav element.
I'm happy to discuss this…
