How can we improve Hindy products?

  1. Kind of Ducking

    To duck a soundbed of music or ambience you have to select many regions and reduce the levels by draging with the mouse and watching the target levels in the little window above the region.

    If these target levels are the same over a wide range of the session, a big improvement could be this workflow:

    You type the target level into an additional window of the session properties (or somewhere else).

    Then select the ducking region as usual and press a shortcut - and the level will be reduced automatically to the predefined number.

    What a time saving feature!

  3. aaf/omf import

    Please enable AAF and OMF importing. This would allow me and my company to use Descript to edit audio and then pull it into Hindenburg. I'm considering switching DAW's company wide since we can't do this currently.

  4. Color Coding

    I'm aware there has already been a feature request for this, but nothing seems to have happened since 2015. Is there any chance you might introduce color coding at some point? It seems like a simple enough feature and it would really improve the product.

  5. Dropping markers from mobile devices.

    Would love to be able to listen to my recording on my iphone and with the simple touch of a button, drop markers where I need to make edits and then import those markers (linked to timecode?) into my hindenburg edit software for my final editing. This would be a great streamline to workflow because I could listen to my recorded session for necessary edits while driving.

  6. Jump to previous/next marker

    Currently PgUp/PgDn navigates to the previous/next event. Often there are quite many of these events because of the numerous splices. It would be a nice feature to have a shortcut that only jumps to markers (and maybe cue points) ignoring splices in between.

  7. Marker Import

    I really would like to import markers off a .txt or .csv file format. At the moment you can only import from other Hindi-Projects and I LOVE editing in Hindenburg. Sometimes recordings happen in other Applications and id like to transfer markers over to Hindenburg as easily as I can do it with audio files

  8. Mute Button

    Please add a mute channel button to use while recording. Something similar to Zencastr. This would allow us to mute coughs, etc., on the fly while recording sound.

  10. Search and replace/global changes

    I've found myself spending a lot of time removing umms, vocal "tics" and mouth sounds from different interview subjects. Could there be a way that the program might recognize these regions in a sort of find/search/replace type feature, where these can be isolated then split out to make global edits, deletes, or level changes?     Greetings, hope this message find you well. I am a Voice Actor, I host a voice tracked segment on a radio show and an Audio Describer. Not to mention, I am a Hindy Journalist user and LOVE IT!.

    I am writing about the Audio Description piece. I was looking at your program for Audio Books and made me wonder if there is a way to develop an audio program for Audio Description.

  13. Select range in a single track

    See attached screen grab. These five tracks are linked to save synch in a podcast with individual tracks recorded. If I want to select the regions indicated in the screen grab, I need to option click the first region, then individually select each region by clicking with the Command key down.

    IF there are no regions in other tracks within that range, you can simply Option click the left most track, then Shift click the right most track and all in between Weill be selected. BUT this applied to all tracks so regions above and below which I don't want,…

  14. Airpod Support

    I would like to be able to record into the field recorder using my Apple AirPods. I tested and the recorder works with wired headphones but not wireless. It would be nice have the option for wireless recording.

  16. Add "Publish to YouTube"

    Simple: Add a setting to the publish panel to uplod a file as video to youtube.
    Take the image from the properties as an image for the video.

  17. Ability to apply effects to regions, not just tracks

    When working with lots of different clips, and attempting to do fairly advanced sound design, it would be really great to not have to have a separate track for each region that requires a different effect.

  18. Adding manuscript when something is already recorded

    Is it possible to add a manuscript when you've already recorded something, or must the manuscript file be added to the session before recording?

  19. More Searchable Manuscript

    The manuscript search function isn't very useful when limited to one word. It would be much more useful if we could search for phrases and entire sentences so we can quickly find the piece of audio we're looking for.

  20. Remember log in password in the software.

    It would be nice if you could provide any of the following solutions:
    - save password and automatically log us in
    - allow us to use our password manager
    - any other option that doesn't require a log in as frequently as it's required now, which seems like a weekly thing
