1. Drag playback head

   Currently, the only way to move the playback head is to click to the new location. This is non-standard and can also be inconvenient. To make HJP consistent with other DAW's and more usable (and intuitive), user should be able to "grab" the playback head with the mouse and drag it to a new location.

2. publish to funkwhale platforms

   I just did setup an audio federation platform using funkwhale and it would be great to be able to upload directly to it. It has some API and can also use subsonic api if that helps.

4. clarify export dialogue

   The best evidence suggests that when exporting a file, The export dialogue parameters are misleading. If once Alex -16 LUFS and mono, the best evidence suggests that it is auto adjusted to be -19 LUFS, which is the mono equivalent to -16 stereo. But there’s no indication in the dialog box that this is happening. Therefore, if an informed user, recognizing that -19 LUFS is the correct setting for mono, manually changes the output setting to -19 LUFS mono, they would — if the protocol continues — get a resultant file of -22 LUFS. This automatic adjustment and conversion is not explain to the documentation anywhere that I have found, and nor is there any sort of an alert or clarification of this process in the dialog box during the export process. This will lead to in accurate files as a result.

5. Narrator "Move and Mark Paragraph"

   When recording a paragraph, I usually know when I just "got it wrong," so I just hit the right arrow and move on to stay in the flow.

   It would be great to be able to use, say, the down arrow or something to "move and mark," perhaps putting a small mark in the margin or using a different background color for the paragraph so that you could easily see which items you need to re-record.

6. Two ideas?

   Firstly would it possible to instigate a batch export feature of audio directly from the timeline for groups/Merged audio files directly in both PRO and Narrator versions? At the moment the closest thing is doing a batch export is from the clipboard (Ctrl + shft + E). But you still have to select each segment individually which is very time consuming - especially when labelling up many small clips for exporting to playout systems. It would be easier to select groups/merges of audio directly on the timeline then export each one as mp3 or wav from the clipboard. Or having to select them, relabel them by having to chapterise them in a linear fashion which again takes up vital time.

   Logic Pro has the ability to export invidual files from its timeline. And similarly Sadie has the ability to do a 'multi' clip bounce. This would be very handy to export many takes of a podcast or in my case news clips in a fast and efficient manner.

   Also on behalf of a colleague, why isn't there a merge function on the Narrator version of Hindenburg and there is one on the Pro function? Could this be instigated?

7. Slightly different colors depending on the type of selection

   I would like that when I make a selection with CTRL+ALT+CLICK the color is slightly different than when I select only with CTRL in a fragment. This way if I have the zoom very tight I can know that I have made the selection right with CTRL+ALT+CLICK without having to zoom out.

8. Switch audio input and output more easily

   It seems that whenever I want to switch the audio output or input source, I have to go to "preferences" in the menu. It would be nice if input and output could be changed with just a mouse click. Appreciate if you would consider this.

9. Compression Based on Peaks, or "Upward" Compression — as a solution to distortion issue

   My main and most common issue with Hindenburg, in over years of using it, is that too often both the compression effect (and the built-in limiter in the normalization feature), results in peaks that sound crunched and distorted.

   As I understand it, compression works based on an average level, making loud parts quieter and quieter parts untouched. But this often leaves the peaks sounding distorted, in my experience.

   When compressing "based on peaks," I believe it leaves the loudest parts untouched and brings up the quieter parts. See more here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/compressor.html

   My hope is that, like Audacity, there could be a "Compression Based on Peaks" option in the Compressor effect. I imagine this would help with average loudness, too, so that sound doesn't hit the limiter when normalizing.

   In any case, I wish that more could be done to deal with the distortion issue.

    Feature to insert a video as a track.
    No video editing. Just the preview in a seperate window.
    So one can do voice over (audiosync) for video clips.

11. Cleanfeed integration

    Use Cleanfeed a lot to record studio quality audio. To edt it needs to be loaded into Hindy. If it was possible to combine the two it would be brilliant and a lot less fiddly. Just a thought ....

12. Audio syncing

    I will have two stems - one for each mic of the two presenters for my podcast. Obviously, the other's mic will pick up sound when the other presenter is talking. If these files go out of sync at all it can be an absolute nightmare to manually resync them (depending on how early I catch it). Adobe Premire has a syncing feature that will match the audio to the video. But I'm wondering if Hindenberg can have a feature that syncs selected stems. It would be a dream!

    As a radio producer editing news cuts daily it would be very helpful if you could add Batch exporting of individual audio files to Hindenburg PRO.

14. Let the spacebar play audio while plug ins are open

    A welcomed feature would be to allow playback to be started and stopped with the space bar, even when plugins are open. It is frustrating to need to quickly stop when I'm adjusting a plugin setting but having to mouse to the actual button.

15. Flag duplicates when importing clipboards

    Hey Hindy Team,
    I'd love for Hindy to flag duplicates when importing a clipboard from another session. My current problem is that when I do that, many of the tracks are duplicates. Instead of recognizing that and giving me the option to not import duplicates, Hindy just imports all of them. I'd love to not have to comb through and import clips from a specific session individually, but also don't love having a repetitive clipboard that's hard to sort though.

16. New folder for WAV copy when exporting audiobooks

    Hi!
    I produce a lot of audiobooks in Daisy format but I also like to keep a WAV copy on my machine for future use.
    As of right now, whenever I export a book and select "Generate WAV copy" all files (including all of the Daisy ones) end up in the same folder - and in some cases, where a book has many chapters or sublevels, things can get quite chaotic as you can see in the screenshot attached.
    Would it be possible to have Narrator create a subfolder in which either the Daisy or the WAV files go once exported, so that things are a little bit more organized? Currently what I do is sort files by type, select the WAVs, create a new folder and stick them in there. Granted it doesn't take long, but I still think this would be a nifty feature.

    I read a recent review (James Cridland, PodNews, Feb. 2023) in which he was very impressed with his beta version of Pro v2. Congratulations! He mentioned that the final release was expected to include a feature for reducing/eliminating mouth sounds and breaths.

    As someone interested in adopting Narrator to record a three-book project, I'm wondering whether that feature may be included SOON in Narrator. Currently, the website description says that I must use an external plug-in for minimizing mouth sounds.

    As you know, this would be a HUGE boost to productivity. I hope you will include this feature directly in Narrator in the near future.

20. Ctrl+arrows = super speed rew/ff

    Hi, I'd like an option, for example ctrl + arrow keys, that would speed up ff/rew. Sometimes I want to run through audio faster than it's doing now. A modifier key (ctrl) that speeds it up a lot would be great.
