1. Exporting all tracks dry

   I would love to have an option for one-button exporting. I use Hindenburg for editing and like to do my mastering in a different program, so having the possibility to export all tracks in one go would be lovely. (Extra points for having the option to disable all channel effects during the export.)

2. Custom File Names, IOS 10 fix, Dual Mono record and others

   Hindenburg:

   First, I love your iPhone app and use it all the time. I am not a journalist, but a musician, and I find your app the easiest to use for getting ideas down quickly. The scrubbing is great amongst many other features.

   However, there are a few things I would love to see.

   • in IOS 10 the interface is not correct and has some artifacting around the playback line

   • MOST IMPORTANT: Able to custom name audio files especially for easy ID in iTunes file sharing. I can rename Sessions in the Sessions window, but those file names do not carry through to the root files names and you end up with names like "2015-01-06 12-18-16 Files" where it is impossible to tell what the files have been renamed to.

   I am aware that I could "Share" the file, but that adds an extra step, takes time and takes up space on the device. I really want to be able to just open up File Sharing in iTunes and transfer the files with the custom names.

   I know it's the competition, but Apogee MetaRecorder is capable of doing this. Perhaps check it out.

   • Able to rename files in Favorites.

   • Able to rearrange order in Favorites

   • Able to record in stereo, mono or dual mono.
     I have a Zoom H6 and Fostex AR101 which I sometimes use as an audio interface. They can output stereo and/or mono, dual mono, but the recorder only records in stereo. An option for record format would be nice.

   • EQ would be nice since there's compression

   • When Sharing, enable select of multiple sessions to do a bulk share/output. Currently one at a time. Too time consuming.

3. Give ability to reduce track size even smaller

   Often in one session I end up working with 20 tracks. I would love the ability to see them all on the screen at the same time. Currently there's a fairly large Minimum track height. Can that easily be changed?

7. a few suggestions

   Hi there, I just started using Hindenburgh Pro since joining Annie Fredrickson, who I believe you met when you were touring Australia. Very sleek and powerful and I enjoy using it. But I have a couple of suggestions that may make it a bit easier to use- requiring fewer clicks and adjustments. Apologies if the functionality is already there and I simply haven't discovered it. Or if they are just habits I've picked up from using other software, and I just need to get more used to Hindy.

   • Allow one to add a group to another group so these are nested (as they are in Microsoft Powerpoint). It becomes frustrating when you need to tweak the levels for one group but you have to ungroup it to do so. And if the group previously contains many clips on many channels, it is very tedious going back and subgrouping them every time.

   • All one to shift-select a particular clip within a group to trim/edit gain etc (as one does in Illustrator). Currently you can UN-SELECT a clip from a group but this isn’t very useful. And having to ungroup is painstaking as mentioned above.

   • Currently when you insert a split into some grouped clips and delete one of them, then the other becomes ‘orphaned’ from the group. This is frustrating as it requires the old ungroup-regroup rigmarole again. (are you detecting a common theme here?)

   • If I have two clips grouped together and I want to fade in evenly across both of them- but the fade tool only applies across on clip at a time.

   • Sometimes it’s easy to accidentally trim a clip by accident when you really just wanted to move it (especially when you are zoomed out and the clips are small, or part of a big group). It would be nice to be able to LOCK any further edits to a clip.

   • An example might be when you’re zoomed into a section to make some fine edits and you’re sliding blocks around, but outside the area you’re viewing the blocks are sliding over each other and cancelling each other. (in Audacity the blocks will only slide as far as the next one, rather than sliding over the top of each other).

   • Sometimes at a late stage in editing, you want to cut some audio from a vocal track, and have all the other groups on all the other layers fall in. Of course you can select the region across all tracks before cutting it, but

   • By default set white playhead in one spot and keep returning to it (like Audacity). This makes iteasier to fine tune edits using the cursor keys rather than mouse placement. I realise that one can use a Mark in a similar way, but this involves extra keystrokes and again, the imprecision of the mouse placement.

   • Some mp3 won’t import. Something to to do with the metadata? I was able to work around by importing and exporting out of iTunes after changing format. E.g. http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Rebecca_Foon/Live_At_CKUT_on_Montreal_Sessions/02_Hearts_Mend_Prelude

8. Printable list of clips (w/timestamps?)

   In my workflow, I like to step away from the editor and look at the story as it stands on paper, to get a different perspective about its flow. One way I do this is to take screengrabs of the timeline at a level of zoom that shows the clip names, then print them out... it would be SO much faster and better if I could print a simple text file that listed the clips in the workspace in the order they appear - maybe even a printable version of the workspace? The most important thing would be that the timeline and the full clip names are both visible.

11. Voice Profiler on Field recorder

    Just testing out Hinderburg Journalist and the Field Recorder (lite) for my podcast "Sleep With Me".

    Really awesome products and impressed with it so far.

    Any plans to add the voice profiler to the field recorder...just in case I wanted to test out recording and editing in the field?

    Do you offer a discount if I purchase the Field Recorder and Hindenberg Jounrlaist or the pro version?

12. The ability to cut clips and have it affect the whole session

    I really love the new feature to cut a clip and only affect the region, instead of the whole track. Similarly it would be great to have a combination of hot keys that would allow you to cut and have it affect the entire session. The work around is create in and out points highlight all the tracks of the session and hit x, but I do this so much one I have a piece going it would be nice to hold command + (another key) + x and have the whole session move in sync without selecting every track. Is there another work around I'm not aware of?

13. Make importing from a CD faster?

    Some of our outside producers give me their shows on a disk with several tracks. With Soundforge I could import the entire CD in less than 2 minutes. On Journalist Pro I'm sitting at 5 minutes and only halfway done importing the CD. Maybe it's due to each track being normalized during the import? I DO like that feature.

14. Jump-Key ( forward / backward ) to the next eevent

    At the moment it is only possible to jump to the end or the beginning of a track.
    in some time it is necessary, to jump EXACTLY to the beginning or end of a clip.
    Positioning with the Cursor is not precise enough.

    This function should work only for a marked Soundtrack.

15. A preview window for clipboard items, similar to video editors

    I'd love to be able to scrub through items in the clipboard, mark in and out, and only bring that section onto the timeline. Also, to type in timecodes from transcripts and bring you to that exact time in the clip. 17. More powerful EQ & compressor tools

    Hi users & Hindenburg team

    I really like the simple design and functionallity of Hindenburg Journalist Pro. But simplicity sometimes comes at a price.
    Right now, the EQ tool only offers manipulating the lower, middle and higher ranges of the spectrum. That's just way too simple. The attached image will easily show you why.
    The compressor only offers more or less compression. Way too simple again.
    Coming from Adobe Audition, I'm used to more powerful tools I don't want to miss.

    Please add some advanced EQ & compression options to the existing ones. Let us manipulate EQ at specific frequencies, and not just (for example) "the middle frequencies". And at least some dynamic compression would be nice.

18. Update for Field Recorder

    Are there any Updates planned for the Field Recorder (bigger Display at iPhone 6 plus)? It will be also interesting, if the Field Recorder would probably change to an full audio editor for the new iPad Pro.

    When you are reading you sometimes make mistakes but want to stay in the text and continue reading and edit later. Now I am using a sound signal 'bipp' to mark mistakes which is to be cut out. This makes the reading much more efficient and I can read f.ex a chapter in one go and edit the text afterwards. I would like one 'button' (M for eksample) that I easily can press while in record to mark the mistake.

    I have tried to create a marker ... but haven't been able to get it to work.

20. More intuitive clipboard/markers reattachment.

    I am having difficulty reattaching the clipboard/markers to their "stationary" position on the workstation. Sometimes the field turns blue-signalling reattachment-but generally this doesn't happen. Maybe a hotkey would alleviate this.
