  1. Punch-in recording for part of a region

Punch-in recording to correct a mistake does not currently stop at the end of the part that needs to be re-recorded but overwrites anything following it. At a recent workshop Jonathan demonstrated a feature from another Hindenburg product that automatically moves anything after a pre-defined part of a region back to allow the take to fill the gap, regardless of how long it is. (I don't recall the name of the feature or of the product at the moment.) It would be great to make this feature available in Journalist PRO as well.

  2. Search and replace/global changes

I've found myself spending a lot of time removing umms, vocal "tics" and mouth sounds from different interview subjects. Could there be a way that the program might recognize these regions in a sort of find/search/replace type feature, where these can be isolated then split out to make global edits, deletes, or level changes? Thanks-Sean

  3. Customizing favorites

Hey-I've been doing some of your YouTube webinars, and in the last one, they talked about the Favorites tool. While it's an awesome way to recall audio, Is there a way to customize that function for a specific project? Or when populating the favorites, would it be possible to make sub lists or folders in there that could be renamed and used as needed? I'm working on 3-4 different podcasts right now, and it would be great to set that up so I could archive and find clips in a more organized way. Thanks-

  4. Strip silence

I edited a series of podcasts recently. This required manually removing silence, which was quite the chore. Please, please, please implement a 'strip silence' feature to make editing more pleasurable!

Could you please add a sound notifying the end or rendering (exporting) the file?

  6. Audio System Defaults

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE change the audio input and output preferences to ALSO recognize the system defaults -- system settings -- rather than ONLY recognizing explicitly chosen inputs and outputs.

  9. Auto-leveling LUFS

I am unsatisfied with the auto-leveling in Hindenburg. mostly how its confusing. I often use music as a bed to talk over for my podcast. Whenever I use the auto-level, the music is always too loud and I have to manually lower it by 3-6 db. I would like more transparency about what LUFS level the tracks are auto-leveled to. I usually export to -16 LUFS, but when I use the loudness meter, its not -16 LUFS. What is the LUFS when I am editing? When I manually adjust an auto-level and then export, does it export that track at…

  10. Deactivating Mp3 tags?

If there is no chance, to deactivate writing mp3 tags, I like to ask for it. :)

Is there any chance, not to have any Mp3 tags when exporting an audio file?
It takes time to manually remove them.

I just want to have the exported file to have a file name - nothing more. :-)
So, I ask for less, than you offer. ;) But how does it work, not to have any Mp3 tag or description or anything?

  11. solo should be a radio-button

First, you should do a tutorial video on the way the solo and mute buttons should be used as intended, because perhaps it's just just me that have the wrong assumptions.

The manual says: "Solo this track Only the sound from this track can be heard." That's not really what happens.

The way I expect the solo buttons to work is the same way as radio-buttons do: only one can be selected at a time, selecting one unselects the previously selected button.

I saw the option-click that was added, but it does not help for the solo buttons. What it does…

  13. ability to place marker on audio rather than track/timline

It would be great to be able to attach a marker directly to an audio clip. Marking the timeline is great, but if you mark a section of a long clip and then move that clip to a different point in the timeline, the mark no longer points to the section of audio you wanted to keep track of. Most video editing applications allow you to mark either on the timeline or on an individual clip. I would love this functionality in Hindenburg.

  14. Different colours for cue points

It would be great if you could choose different colours for cue points, e. g. to have all cue points for track A in one colour and all cue points for track B in different one.

  15. Automated Proofing with Exportable Reports for Clients

Currently I have Hindenburg ABC and love the product. While looking around for Automated Proofing Software I came across Pozotron which seems to have some very good functionality. However, it seems expensive and has a subscription based pricing model which I really don't like. Hindenburg ABC seems like it could potentially have some of these features built into it in the future with not to much trouble. If at all possible having an Automated Proofing feature similar to Pozotron would be really awesome. If not maybe Hindenburg could develop a separate program that I would gladly purchase.

    Thanks in advance.

  16. Apple's operating system referred to incorrectly as "Apple OSX" instead of "macOS"

Product and support pages list "Apple OSX" instead of "macOS". The operating system was renamed 4 years ago. Please change it to reflect the correct name of the operating system.

(If you change it to "Apple macOS", you should also change "Windows" to "Microsoft Windows" for consistency.)

  17. Markdown export of chapters

Journalist already has Text export of chapter info. But the format isn't convenient for my purposes.

Would it be possible to either have markdown export as well.

    OR

A way to provide a template for how to format the text output?

  18. Improved handling of cue points

Working with cue points is very uncomfortable, they are not listed in the marker window, so it's hard to keep an overview. Could you list them in there or give them their own window?
